What you know will hurt you

Do you know the difference between “knowledge” and “understanding”?

That answer will help you navigate difficult situations that throw even the best people off their game.

Reminds me of yesterday…

About 7 Billion people are still clueless about email power, so I have my work cut out for me. Yesterday I focused on reaching podcasts that serve people like you.

Gave myself 3 hours to choose and pitch 10 radio stations and podcasts.

My rules: Only fun places to speak… lead by inspired leaders like you… who really care about their audience.

It was hard. So many badpods didn’t make the cut.

(Definitely a message for another day.)

Finally found some, and sent 10 irresistible pitches that I specially tweaked to suit the 10 different conversations I want to have with each host.

As I read this back, I notice it’s pretty cocky and arrogant sounding huh?

I come off that way a lot.

Truth is, I’m not cocky. Nor am I arrogant.

I am ridiculously confident when it comes to pitching though,  since I understand how to do it well.

Others play the knowing game by taking a few good notes and hoping they can package them together to make a solid pitch.

They earn more flops than wins that way.

Then feel bad about the results.

Finally blaming others, or worse themselves, before giving up forever.

Meanwhile, people like me understand what a gatekeeper needs to hear and see to feel comfortable with a new person and idea.

I understand what to say in your pitch so that total strangers give you a platform even if you aren’t a BIG TIME celebrity, have a huge audience or haven’t built a track record yet.

None of those things matter if you have valuable advice to share that is proven to help people.

With the right words, media hosts will move their schedule around to introduce you to their audience sooner so that you can have a fun quality conversation that teaches empowering lessons.

Guaranteeing a good time where they, their audience, and you win BIG.

Win. Win. Win.

That’s the difference between “knowledge” and “understanding” {Your name}.

Understanding… benefits everyone in the picture.

(lesson to live by)

It’s why I created Emails That Earn Quick Replies.

It teaches understanding… of how email and people work so that you can propose mutually beneficial ideas with leaders in your industry.

It’s 50+ pages of email scripts that do most of the work for you, like the exact script I used 10 times yesterday, on page 19.

Earned me 3 new bookings in front of 20K+ people for only 3 hours of work.

3 positive responses that I received within 1 hour of hitting send.

Not bad for copying and pasting a script 10 times.

7 more responses to hear back from still.

(There goes that cocky arrogance again.)

Gotta tone down a bit…

… how about… only 6,999,980,000 left to reach my global goal.

Be well,

Max!
