How to win friends & influence people by saying “NO!”

Recently (and regularly) I said “No!” to several people who want to work with me.

I know-I know…

… it’s backwards but it’s important to me to deliver 10x value with everyone I serve.

I refuse to help people stagnate or go backwards.

REFUSE!

Recently, 3 people didn’t have the money to afford my rates. It’s not cheap, and I don’t want anyone to go into debt over me.

That’s a job for Sallie Mae and credit lenders.

Another person didn’t know her target market.

Copywriters lied to her and said it didn’t matter. IT DOES. She pleaded with me to take her money. Still said “No!”

(Maybe I should have taken it?… I do owe Sallie Mae still. NAH!)

I told her I was proud to be the only one who told her the truth instead of taking her money, only to deliver mediocre results.

In all those cases, I’m still in touch, with said people.

They’re reading this message while making the specific improvements I prescribed to get them where they want to be.

Then they’ll be ready to partner with me for some BIGGER wins.

That’s true professionalism in action {Your name}.

Professionalism: being yourself, open-minded, true to your values, and forthcoming with your best knowledge to achieve a goal.

A set of people I told “No!”, didn’t spit in my face or disparage my work online.

Rather they sent me heartfelt messages asking what they could do to improve their current positions so we could one day work together.

In all of those cases, people could have expected 101 different outcomes.

They’d be wrong every time.

Thankfully, you and I know better.

So what do you stand for in your work?… and have you said it loud and proud yet?

Tell your audience your values and they’ll love and respect and admire you as well. Those that don’t… will sort themselves out since they aren’t your ideal customers/clients.

Only a handful of spots available for March Strategy Sessions.

Be well,

Max!

P.S. I’m hiring.

Right now what’s important is having someone who can help partners-in-waiting smoothly identify their target market.

I’d love to pass that extra work to someone capable, confident and who believes in the spirit of this work. Together we could help more people overcome this first barrier sooner.

If that’s you, or someone you know, let’s talk please.

Come spring, I’d love to offer this as an added service for those who need the extra support.
