Erica asks:
“How do you get gmail users to move you into their Primary inbox tab?”
I forgot that different “inboxes” exist. I thought the ideas was obnoxious and would encourage people to sign up for more subscriptions they don’t need, use or want.
(Quick tip: Free up your mental and digital bandwidth by removing this gmail feature immediately.)
If you’re overwhelmed with information overload and worse— analysis paralysis, gmail inbox tabs is a part of the reason why.
But the question is valid, and the answer:
Think like your reader. Put yourself in their shoes. What would an email have to do to make you prioritize it.
You’d probably want to make it personalized. So instead of writing to your whole list, think of specific people and write an email with only them in mind.
You’d want it to be entertaining. So instead of booooring your reader with facts and figures and a list of what to do, tell them a story that relates to the tip.
You’d want it to guide you in a specific way. So instead of teaching someone to make 6-figures, give them the mindset it takes to earn a single dollar first.
You’d want it rather frequently enough for you to apply and get that next dose. People are more likely to invest in you, when they hear from you often and see you’re consistent and reliable.
Finally, you’ll want accountability and feedback to know when the words you’re using are spot on or need improvement.
