FYI, your Mom doesn’t want to ruin your life👇

Here’s a common question I get that I have not answered publicly.

“Knox how do I cut off Mom/Dad/Sibling/Girlfriend/Best friend/Mentor?”

Usually, people approach me, ask that question. Then go on to describe how awful the person is and what it costs them.

Sure I am all for cutting off distractions and bad energy from your life. I have been a living testament both for what can happen when you don’t and what happens when you do.

Thing is, in most situations where you think you HAVE TO cut someone off, we do not need to do much.

Nothing dramatic at least.

Think about it.

No one is forcing you to spend time with your parents, siblings, girl, or friends. Which means if they do not serve you in a positive way, all you really need to do is not chase after them anymore.

The only reason they are in your life is because you invite them.
So stop.

Stop inviting them.

Stop entertaining their calls and text and emails.
Stop investing in them and they will stop investing in you.

However, the subtraction of one thing, means you should invest your extra time, money, and energy in a new area of your life— Your-Self Improvement.

While you raise your standards they will do 1 of 2 things.

1— They see your example and decide to stay the same, to leave you alone.

2— They see your example and decide to raise their standard, to make your friendship stronger.

Meaning, you never have to “confront them” or “tell them off” or “host an intervention”.

Instead you do what you are meant to do, focus on your purpose and ignore the distractions to your left and right.

Trust me they do not care about you as much as you think that they will chase after you once they get the message.

But if you show your ass and tell off your childhood friend, or your Mom, they will resent you and be thrilled to make your life hell.

Be smarter than your problems.
Grab the TAKE CHARGE method to develop yourselves in all ways so you never have to tell people off ever.

Let your example, positively inspire and motivate them in subtle ways that they might even thank you for not spending time with them (true stories).

But that’s an advanced reward. Start by taking your first step and deciding that right now is the best time to be the man you are fated to be.
