People buy books… but they don’t read books?
So strange.
Numbers don’t lie.
According to Association of American Publishers physical book sales continually rise, while ebook sales plateau.
Besides a slight dip in 2015, sales consistently, for the 3 years prior, defy short-sighted expert predictions.
Regardless of sales though, they don’t account for what people do after the sale. For that, we have to ask the question…
Did you read the book?
The answer, you buy books you typically won’t read as an insurance policy.
Why? So you have it on hand when you are ready to use it.
Yup!
You’re an addicted shopper and books are a nice dopamine fix.
Solution: Buy based on your priorities.
Books like the ones that schooled me on a good chunk of what I use to build strategies for my partners.
1 – The Boron Letters by Gary C. Halbert.
Before you take that next step in your career, read this. A series of letters from an incarcerated Dad to his son explaining how life and business work.
One of the few books I’ve ever read that made me want to implement the ideas right away.
When you’re ready to create your next product or service offering test your idea by asking the market first. Levesque outlines the exact framework to launch your next best product to a crowd of raving fans.
3 – Social Media is Bullshit by Brandon Mendelson.
Want to create a new promotional campaign to build your business? My colleague wrote a book about how not to do it. Before you sell your soul to **FaceTwitGramShot** game understand how it all works and why it exist.
4 – The War of Art by Steven Pressfield.
Sometimes you know a feeling, but don’t have a name for it. Pressfield names the exact cause of your hesitation. He also knows how to produce your best work in spite of your war against procrastination.
5 – Start With Why by Simon Sinek.
I’m not a lover of Apple or WHY-based business philosophies, most don’t know what they’re talking about when they regurgitate lines like how revolutionary Apple is. That said when your business is built and you’re ready to frame your ultimate brand, this is the book you’ll want to guide you, your team and your future image.
6 – Pitch Anything by Oren Klaff.
Pitching ideas well, in any context is an art. Klaff outlines the exact system he uses to pitch and close Billion dollar deals. His pitch method is similar though different enough from mine, so it makes a fun strategy in my toolbox.

That’s that.
Honourable mentions include 4 Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss and 48 Laws of Power.
Eight books for your physical home library that you will read, reread and share.
To see these strategies in action helping you double your sales growth in less time than it takes to buy, ship, read, and implement these frameworks, schedule a Strategy Session next week.
Give me 60 minutes, and I’ll craft strategic emails that build the foundation you’ll want to cut back your hours so you can focus on high-level ideas that grow your business.
Be well,
Max!
P.S. You read correctly… I don’t worship Steve Jobs and Apple like everyone else because I understand why they’re actually cool and it has nothing to do with being “innovative”.
If you understand why too, let me know. there are so few of us around. Say “Hi” already.
I want a new friend.
