My favorite documentary is MAN ON WIRE about the infamous Frenchman, Phillipe Petit who walked tightrope between the Twin Towers back when they eclipsed the Manhattan skyline.
The doc is a masterclass of strong storytelling.
You have Great characters, challenging conflict, underdog situations, funny jokes, provocative insights, and winning against all odds, no matter what.
The daring Petit pulled off illegal project to become a NY legend.
In the doc, or in an interview, I recall him talking about how most tightrope walkers die.
They take their last steps for granted before making it to the other side.
As a result they fall to their deaths.
Essentially the job is not done until your feet are firmly planted on the ground.
This is true of so many things.
Most car crashes happen within a mile of your home.
Most job interviews go poorly when you do not follow up
Most girls you date get bored with you after you stop trying.
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Why? Because you you celebrated way too early.
Rather than commit to the whole process, you felt accomplished before you made it to the finish line.
Do you see how easy it is to undo all your hard work friend.
Learn how to never take the process for granted here:
Be well,
