You ever watch THE PREDATOR?
Great movie with Great action and Great characters.
It’s about a successful CIA mission in the jungle, and on the way home they face an alien hunter who picks them off one-by-one.
I highly recommend it.
Comes to mind now because of one of the last lines of the movie.
The hero, Dutch, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, comes to terms with his inevitable death. In a short moment of acceptance, the Hunter takes off his mask to reveal its disturbing gnarly face.
To which Dutch replies:
“You’re one ugly motherfucker”
I see it as Dutch accepting his fate, and then changing his mind. Because if he is going to die, it won’t be at the hands of an ugly predator. That would not be a righteous way to go.
So he summons the strength to NOT DIE.
He’d rather live to tell the tale and die on his own terms. Perhaps old and beside his devoted bride surrounded by his dozens of kids and grandkids playing in the yard.
Same goes for you.
Poverty wants to kill you, but it’s an “ugly motherfucker”.
Ignorance wants to kill, but it’s an “ugly motherfucker”.
Western Society wants to kill you, but it’s an “ugly motherfucker”.
Many worldy threats want to silence you for good, but none of them deserve the victory.
Only you decide when you die and how.
YOU take the victory.
You find a way because you have no plans to die today.
