Stephanie’s story, in her own words, goes like this.
—
“I have a very tiny list of 8 people. Haven’t emailed them in months and have nothing to sell them right now. Decided this morning, who cares? Screw it, I’m going to start emailing them every day. Starting today. If all 8 unsubscribe, I’ll just email myself while I build my list.
Tired of procrastinating and making up excuses.
Let’s…Do…This…!”

Stephanie is my copywriting colleague focused on writing for women leaders. She understood the power of email, but wasn’t using it.
Like so many, she fell into the trap thinking she a) didn’t have anything to to sell and b) needed a list of thousands to start.
Wrong and Wrong.
1 – Her copywriting services are her sell. Like me, she can demonstrate her expertise every. single. day. while offering 1-to-1 consulting and writing, in each email.
2 – Who wrote the rule you need thousands of subscribers to be valuable? I want to meet that person, and I want to read this “rule of thumb.”
It’s bullshit.
Like female anatomy, if you’re only focused on size, you’re missing the bigger picture.
And at that point you lose your value, and everyone involved is left frustrated, bitter, even angry.
So sad.
What a missed opportunity?
While you’re waiting to build your list beyond 10 readers 100 or 1000, the subscribers you already have suffer.
They’re struggling with the problem you have a solution to and you’re just… ignoring them.
Do you only drive your car when it has a full tank of gas?
If you’re a parent who wants another child, do you ignore the children you have until you have another baby?
When it doesn’t snow on December 25, do you wait for the next snowfall before you celebrate Christmas?
No. No. and Nooo!
Life goes on.
For your customers/clients so does their struggle.
It’s irresponsible to withhold their cure.
Value isn’t about size. In business, it’s about results. The results you get for the people you say you care about.
Stephanie said it better than I can:
“Screw it, I’m going to start emailing them every day. Starting today. If all 8 unsubscribe, I’ll just email myself while I build my list.
Tired of procrastinating and making up excuses.
Let’s…Do…This…!”
AMEN!
No more procrastination, let’s start helping people.
I started with 6 or 7 people on my list. Many were repeat clients. Since then I’ve earned more, and my list continues to grow by double digits every week, by word of mouf alone.
(Haven’t pushed play on my promotion strategy yet.)
You too can do it, but it means you have to stop reading this message and start writing your messages.
Be well,
Max!
P.S. Want help writing emails to your intimate list?
You have the expertise, just show up to the call and I’ll do the rest.
Give me 60 minutes and I’ll show you how to make your list sing your praises and double you list size as they spread your name.
This isn’t for everyone, but if you’re serious about helping people and leading with your expertise, schedule right now.
