👊🏾 Surviving our collective trauma in 2022

In 2023 you’re going to hear a new topic touted in modern psych BS.

Collective trauma.

It’s not new, but old.

This is the latest of “misery loves company” where people bond over shared traumas. No different than any support group.

You’ll hear that term and others they come up with as they go.

Thing is no one ever invites us to trauma bond with them.

What’s the deal?

Me and my brothers’ been collective trauma bonding for years by ourselves.

No one cares about us bonding over losing hundreds of pounds to get in shape. No one cares about us bonding over playing chess daily for a whole year to toughen our mind and problem solving.

No one cares about us bonding over becoming social butterflies even though we are introverts. No one cares about us bonding over dating classy girls who like what we like so we don’t have to force them to do anything. No one cares about us bonding over increasing our cashflow on demand so we make money smoothly. It was all traumatic.

Stressful work to bravely do things we did not want to do, to endure the stagnate periods where it seemed like nothing worked, having to lose friends and family who wanted us to play it safe, confronting the man in the mirror, being held accountable by our brothers, admitting when we were wrong and correcting it,  That was traumatic to do. enduring all sorts of horrors, with extreme emotional highs and lows.

No one cares though.

No one cares when your suffering leads to Great things.

Only when it leads to pain.

If there’s misery you can get a whole TV show and become world famous as a poster child for mediocrity.

If there’s uplifting motivation and inspiration, it’s ignored or deemed toxic positivity.

So it goes.

And we’re OK with the silly labels Society has for it.

We’ll be trauma bonding over our success without them.
