When you work on Twitter as I do, you start to see things as they are and not what they ain’t.
It is all a game of social competence.
The best and BIGGEST active accounts are signs of the most socially skilled, which is in line with all things.
The most important skill to know is that whomever you follow, interact with, and like, RT, comment is an endorsement of that person or brand.
This is why I tell clients to ignore trolls because targeting them is too easy to tarnish their solid brand with a quote RT that reflects badly on you to your followers.
Your best play is to show you are not an easily baited idiot.
The kind of person with a brand that attracts and endorses other positive brands. This play gets you more connections, referrals, RTs, followers, cash, and more.
In other words, you gotta see the whole chess board.
This is the same challenge people face offline too.
You do not consistently show you are smart, strong and powerful in a way that makes people want to know, like, and trust you.
Your followers and fans want to be super proud of YOU.
They want confirmation that their endorsement of you is a winning ticket.
They support you as part of their network by following you.
Are you saying and doing things that make THEM look stupid?
Yes or no?
Do they look better by being associated with you?
Yes or no?
Networking 101, online AND offline, is based on you helping people do things THEY want to do.
Because people care about themselves more than they care about you.
You must add MASSIVE value that does not offend your supporters’ core values and sense of self.
Do you SEE?
Make them look better, feel better, think better, see better, act better.
If you are not already doing this, chances are they aren’t paying you tribute with cash often.
Change that brother.
