One of the interesting observations I’ve had the past few months of listening to people tell stories on various audio apps, is that seemingly very very few people have any kind of understanding of how to tell a mesmerizing tale.
By comparison you can shine without really trying.
It’s been on my mind as I lead my team into Season 5 of Brotherhood, my mens-only Twitter Spaces, LIVE on Wednesdays at 7:30 PM ET.
The lack of proper storytelling is a glaring sign’o’the’times.
Great stories inspire because of HOW you convey important messages about how we should live life.
Stories that show your courage, bravery, competence, discipline, wit, humour, and the fantastic ability to be an underdog yet still win against all odds.
This is the reason most people’s tales fall flat.
They talk about other people and things. Rarely about themselves because they do nothing worth telling.
So the best way to improve your storytelling is to live a bold, fantastic life full of adventure.
To the younger Men.. if you’re not having adventures,
If you’re not saying YES to what scares you,
If you’re not doing things that make “normal” people GASP,
You’re doing it WRONG.
You have a DUTY to be interesting. Fascinating. Compelling.
Rich + interesting = Winning at life.
Broke + interesting = In this 100%
Rich/broke + boring = Dead.
