My younger siblings grew up on the SIMs game. I never played, but enjoyed hearing them talk about it watching them play for a few minutes.
The idea of the game fascinated me. It’s lifestyle design where you control every aspect of who a person is, what they can do, and what they have, and who is in their life.
Thing is I did not want to play that game because I was already playing the real life version.
The Sims is globally popular because it speaks to how we all know life works.
That if you do X, then Y happens. Cause and effect.
The Sims is globally addictive because it is WAY easier to pretend life than to get the same rewards building your ideal life.
Takes discipline and commitment to get an ideal body.
Takes social skills and situational awareness to make friends, attract lovers, and get a job.
Takes financial savvy and leadership skills to run a profitable business.
It takes… It takes… It takes…
It takes mental, physical, and emotional WORK.
The Game only takes the same brain power you need to screw in a light bulb to get the virtual image of your ideal life.
Says a lot about people who rather play games than live the game with real life stakes.
Oh well, funny people do funny things, and determine men do real things…
Be well,
