Had a “fun” girl in my Twitter notifications the other day.
One of those immigrants who has an idea of how America should be.
Black girl who thinks everything she says is impenetrable because she got a piece of paper from her favorite professors who told her how to think.
Her attempt, convincing Knox that the way to save black people is to stop them from getting HIV. Of all the problems facing black people, and the world overall, she thinks priority #1 is getting full blood panels.
Yeah.
That’ll do it kiddo.
Naturally I laughed and pointed out the facts to my audience. Less than 1% of people in the world will ever get HIV or designer AIDS. Less than 2% will ever get any STI/STD.
But if you think STIs/STDs are rampant and dangerous. I guess it’s best you tend to those issues away from me.
Meanwhile, the rest of us can focus on real issues for our family. Like how 70% of Black people, and the West are dying of obesity. A healthcare problem that costs Americans trillions of dollars a year, over a million lives, and reduce carbon emissions.
So this brings up a good point about 2 ways to address problems.
You either snowball and start with the smallest issue til it’s resolved, then take on the next bigger, nastier issue. And keep going til you have momentum. Like building a snowball.
OR
You start with the BIGGEST ISSUE first. End it once and for all, then take on the next smaller one feeling like a badass because you did what others said was impossible. Like how avalanches go.
The choice is always yours.
I am the Avalanche.
But this goes into every aspect of your life. You wake up angry, sad, depressed, frustrated, easily annoyed because the BIG things nag at you. Why not
Why wouldn’t you want it to go away, fast, and right now?
Assuming you don’t secretly like misery, face your BIGGEST problems head on.
It’s never as scary as you think it will be.
Plus you’ve handled tough situations that prepared you for this new challenge.
Great. You’re ready.
So go all in and avalanche that issue so it’s done and dead in the past.
Or you can be like the girls on Twitter solving tiny women’s issues that won’t amount to anything. But it makes the feel good and productive while real threats enclose them.
Relief or Avoidance?
Avalanche or Snowball?
Peace or Tolerance?
Think about it.
