A wife has a dream that her husband has a car crash because of faulty breaks.
Wakes her husband to tell him to check the brakes in the morning.
He laughs and says, “It’s only the Devil trying to scare me. I’ll be fine.”
Goes back to sleep restfully.
Drives to work without checking his brakes.
Ends up dead in a crash that could have been avoided if he had working brakes.
A true story that happens every single day.
The world sends you a signal and instead of heeding the warning, obeying the implicit command (in this case: check your brakes before going to work), you ignore it and have to deal with building consequences of your poor choices.
Maybe you won’t die.
Instead you may screw up on sales call, miss a chance with a cute girl, skip a car payment, get overwhelmed by a rep at the gym, forget to sell on a trade, misrepresent your client to their customers, trip up in a debate, show up late to an important meeting, etc, etc, etc.
Society tells you this is all common.
