🍓 Sometimes I lie

🍓 It’s Thoughtful Thursday where I share an actionable tip. Enjoy🍓

For Example: 2023 has been a difficult one for me. So was 2022, and the years prior. But I tell everyone it’s all easy.

In fact, I am hard-pressed to think of an actually easy year in my life, including when I was a kid.

At one I was diagnosed with a chronic illness.

At three, I had to walk to the ER for treatment when I was deathly sick.

At five, I was helping to raise my younger brother while my mom worked, and he is 4-and-a-half-year younger than I am.

That is not meant to be a sob story, as I was doing what was necessary for my family at the time, and haven’t stopped since.
I bring it up for two reasons. One; because life is meant to be difficult. There’s always a problem to fix.

Catastrophes to avoid.

Enemies at the gate.

You have your own version of challenges, same as me and everyone else. No way around it friend.

All you can do is wake up and be vigilant in your work throughout the day to get home safely, so you can rest, reassess, and do it all again the next day.

So I lie when I say it’s past halfway through July, and I’m loving it.

I guess it’s a half-lie. I do love it, but not as much as I love my family. I love it in a grateful way because I know it could be worse. I could be in jail and not provide. Or I could be dead and not even exist.

So I lie to myself and others about how smoothly things are going.

In the same way one lies to their kid playing in the street, by telling them you have candy in your hand if they get back to the house right quick.

The second reason to highlight this fact of life is that you should be grateful for it.

One you are not alone so complaining is foolish. It’d be like being upset that you have to inhale and exhale.

Instead be proud of your responsibilities and stress. Make sure you train to handle it.

Exercise daily,
Combat training,
Play chess games,
Sleep per your chronotype,
Eat foods that make you stronger, and
Spend time with people who expect you to be Greater than you were yesterday.

DOing one is powerful. DO them all, every single day goes a long way to make you stronger to handle the stress most people avoid.

That stress is what attracts healthier relationships, smarter friends, and much more money too.

Do with that what you will.

I do not mind as I’ll probably be too busy with one of the items above.

Or maybe I’m lying about all of this too.
